Livermore Links has been hearing from readers complaining of a power outage.
According to PG&E, the outage is affecting anywhere from 500 to 5000 customers. The cause of the outage is unknown.
The outage began around 7:10 this evening, and power is expected to be fully restored by 11:15 tonight.

UPDATE 11:10pm: PG&E says the power has been restored to most customers as of around 11pm. We did not receive any initial neighborhood information, but one Facebook reader told us power was out downtown and she even had to leave the 6:55 showing of "Super 8" because of the outage at Livermore 13 Cinemas.
Around 3pm today the power went out at Walmart on Los Pasitas. And nearby stores. What made me giggle was there wasnt a backup generator for the store lights. Just a backup battery for the registers. So customers were still able to make their final purchases before they had to close the store. And turning the age old question into a reality..."Where did all my money go?" lol
ReplyDeleteProof to Walmarts promise to "everyday low prices" by not spending money on generators. I love my Walmart especially when things like this happen. You get to see first hand how well the employees dont miss a beat to come together for the customers and never lose their friendly attitudes as well.
